Today, the role of a school is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to inspire and empower its students to become life-long learners, critical thinkers and productive members of a constantly changing global society. A school should strive to provide its students with an environment for all-round development, where children are encouraged to utilize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. This can only be possible in a holistic, student-centric environment. The talents, skills and abilities of each student need to be identified, nurtured and encouraged so that he or she is able to reach greater heights. There is a need to provide a platform for students to think, express and display their skills. It is essential to empower them to have conversations on the many issues they face, with the teacher being a facilitator.
